Chinchero Earth Brown Mestana – Andean Altar Cloth
The Story & Details
Some colors don't just decorate — they steady you.
The Chinchero Earth Brown Mestana — also known as a Missa or Mesa Andina — is woven in warm, grounding brown tones inspired by the high plains of Chinchero, one of the most storied weaving towns in the Peruvian Andes. Woven in Peru on traditional looms, then individually hand-cut and finished to size by our founder Patricia, this ritual cloth has long been used for altars, despacho ceremonies, meditation, and quiet spiritual work.
Its traditional striped pattern in earthy brown tones is often associated, in Andean tradition, with grounding, stability, and connection to the earth (Pachamama) — a color story for anyone seeking calm rather than spectacle.
